Man City vs PSG team news
Manchester City
The big question is Erling Haaland. He asked to come off in the 67th minute of Norway’s 2-1 Nations League defeat to Portugal on 4 October. Norway coach Ståle Solbakken spoke about a heavy workload rather than an injury, but Haaland is City’s only senior out-and-out striker, so any doubt matters (The Independent).
- Antoine Semenyo and Nico O’Reilly were both listed as injured ahead of City’s trip to Liverpool (Goal). Semenyo was sent home from Ghana duty with a swollen leg.
- Phil Foden is suspended for the Liverpool game after his red card at Manchester United. That is a domestic ban, so he is available for PSG.
- City play at Anfield on Sunday 11 October, three days before this game, so Enzo Maresca may rotate.
Off the pitch, this is City’s first home game since an independent commission found them guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules. Expect a charged atmosphere.
Paris Saint-Germain
PSG have not played since a 2-1 win at Marseille on 20 September. Luis Enrique has fitness questions in midfield and attack:
- Warren Zaïre-Emery (thigh) and Senny Mayulu were both listed as injured before PSG’s Ligue 1 game with Le Mans on 10 October (Goal). Mayulu is expected to miss several weeks.
- Ferran Torres came home early from Spain duty with ankle discomfort and is a doubt.
How did Man City and PSG start the Champions League?
City won 2-0 at Porto on Matchday 1, with Haaland scoring both goals, and they have won seven matches in a row in all competitions. PSG, the back-to-back European champions, thrashed Slovan Bratislava 6-1 in Paris. Both teams arrive with three points and attacks that can hurt anyone.
City’s form is the best in England. They have won all five Premier League games, scoring 13 and conceding five, and sit top of the table. Haaland headed in Enzo Fernández’s cross early in the second half in Porto and added a late second from Rayan Aït-Nouri’s pass (match stats). The warning sign is at the back: City let in three in a 5-3 win over Sunderland.
PSG are still the team to beat in Europe. They beat Arsenal on penalties in the 2026 final in Budapest to retain the trophy. Their Ligue 1 start was uneven, with a 2-2 draw at Lille and a 2-1 home defeat to Monaco, but they won their last two league games before the break, 1-0 at Brest through an early Ferran Torres goal and 2-1 at Marseille.
Players to watch
Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
When fit, Haaland is the most reliable scorer in this fixture. His brace in Porto took him straight back to his habit of a goal a game in Europe. If he starts, City have a target for every cross. If he is on the bench, City lose their focal point and the goals markets lose some of their appeal.
Rayan Cherki and Phil Foden (Manchester City)
Cherki scored for France during the international break and gives City the creativity between the lines that PSG’s midfield press has to stop. Foden started in Porto and, with his ban only domestic, could be fresh after missing Anfield.
Ousmane Dembélé (PSG)
The 2025 Ballon d’Or winner can play wide or through the middle, and he has been playing centrally for France with Kylian Mbappé injured. His movement against a City defence that likes a high line is the key duel of the night.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué (PSG)
Luis Enrique’s wide runners turn PSG’s possession into chances. Against City full-backs who push up, their pace on the break is why we expect PSG to score.
Man City vs PSG head-to-head
City have won all three of their Champions League home games against PSG: 1-0 in the 2016 quarter-final, 2-0 in the 2021 semi-final second leg and 2-1 in the 2021/22 group stage. PSG won the most recent meeting 4-2 in Paris in January 2025, during the first league phase. Recent meetings have rarely been quiet.
Man City vs PSG odds explained
Implied probability is 1 divided by the decimal price. It shows how likely the bookmaker thinks each outcome is. If this is new to you, read our guide to how betting odds work.

| Market | ChampBet odds (7 Oct 2026) | Implied probability |
|---|---|---|
| Man City win | 2.30 | 43.5% |
| Draw | 3.92 | 25.5% |
| PSG win | 2.77 | 36.1% |
| Over 2.5 goals | 1.42 | 70.4% |
| Under 2.5 goals | 2.67 | 37.5% |
| Both teams to score: Yes | 1.39 | 71.9% |
| Both teams to score: No | 2.75 | 36.4% |
| Over 3.5 goals | 2.07 | 48.3% |
The three 1X2 prices add up to about 105%, and the extra 5% is the bookmaker’s margin. The market gives City a small edge for home advantage but nothing more. The strongest signal is in the goals markets: roughly a 70% chance of three or more goals and a similar chance that both sides score.

Our Man City vs PSG prediction
Two of the best attacks in Europe meet, and neither defence has been watertight. City conceded three to Sunderland, and PSG drew 2-2 at Lille and lost 2-1 at home to Monaco. PSG are also missing midfield cover, which makes it harder for them to control the game for 90 minutes.
Haaland’s fitness cuts both ways. A fit Haaland makes City likely to score at home. Without him, City are less direct but still dangerous, and PSG would feel freer to attack. Either way, we expect chances at both ends.
We lean towards a 2-2 draw, with a 2-1 either way close behind. Our pick is over 2.5 goals at 1.42, confidence 3 out of 5.
The risk to the pick: a cagey game. City play Liverpool three days earlier and may rotate, and both sides already have three points, so a tight 1-0 or 1-1 is possible. Check the team sheets an hour before kick-off.
Other markets worth a look
- Both teams to score, Yes at 1.39: our second angle. Both attacks are too good to be kept quiet for 90 minutes. Our GG tips guide explains how to judge this market.
- Over 3.5 goals at 2.07: a bigger price if you expect another wild night like the 4-2 in Paris.
- Double chance, City or draw (1X) at 1.45: for a safer side bet based on City’s perfect home record against PSG in this competition.
- Bet Builder idea: combine over 2.5 goals and both teams to score in one Bet Builder slip. The combined price shows in your slip.
- Accas: over 2.5 at 1.42 is priced at 1.40 or higher, so it can count as a leg for One Leg Down acca insurance. BTTS at 1.39 falls just under the minimum. Full terms apply on the One Leg Down offer page.
