Our Arsenal vs Lille prediction is an Arsenal win at 1.25, with over 2.5 goals at 1.58 as our second angle. The sides meet at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday 13 October 2026, kick-off 20:00 WAT, in Champions League Matchday 2. Every price below is ChampBet odds on 7 October 2026, and they will move once the line-ups are known.

Arsenal won their opener in Naples, while Lille lost a five-goal thriller at home to Real Betis and lost a key midfielder to suspension. Predictions are our opinion and football is unpredictable, so treat this as a view, not a promise.

Arsenal vs Lille team news

Mikel Arteta and Davide Ancelotti speak to the media on Monday 12 October. Both sides play at the weekend first, Arsenal at home to Leeds on Saturday lunchtime and Lille at home to Le Havre, so the picture will be clearer by then.

Arsenal

The long international break hurt Arsenal. According to The Independent’s injury update on 5 October:

  • Kai Havertz and Christos Tzolis both picked up hamstring problems, for Germany and Greece. Both are expected to miss a few weeks, which rules them out of this game.
  • Declan Rice withdrew from England duty to manage a knock and a heavy workload, but should be fit.
  • Ezri Konsa, the summer signing from Aston Villa, left the England camp with a knock and faces further assessment.
  • Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie are back in training, which helps the defence.
  • Reports of a Martin Odegaard injury proved wrong. He kept playing for Norway.

Lille

  • Ethan Mbappe is banned. UEFA gave the 19-year-old midfielder a three-match Champions League suspension for his straight red card against Betis, so he misses Arsenal, Galatasaray and Bodo/Glimt.
  • Forward Hamza Igamane is not expected back until around the turn of the year, so Ancelotti is rotating Olivier Giroud and Ayase Ueda up front.

Form and context

Arsenal won 1-0 in Naples on Matchday 1, with Odegaard’s second-half goal settling a game they could have won by more. In the Premier League they sit second behind Manchester City, though their last league outing before the break was a 3-0 defeat at Brighton on 19 September. Opta data on the Premier League’s site shows how they play: 59.5% possession on average, and 22.7 kilometres more running than their opponents across the first five games, the biggest gap in the league.

Lille are in the first season under Davide Ancelotti, son of Carlo. They won at Angers and Toulouse, drew 2-2 with Paris Saint-Germain and beat Troyes to go top of Ligue 1 in mid-September, then lost 2-1 at Nice on 20 September. In Europe they led Real Betis twice at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy but lost 3-2, conceding two Marc Bartra headers before Troy Parrott’s winner. The positive for Lille: they have scored in all six of their competitive games this season.

Players to watch

Arsenal

  • Martin Odegaard: scored the winner in Naples and sets the tempo. With Havertz out, more of Arsenal’s creativity runs through him.
  • Viktor Gyokeres: the Sweden striker is expected to lead the line with Havertz injured. ChampBet had him at 41.00 for Champions League top scorer on 7 October.
  • Bukayo Saka, the Nigerian angle: born in London to Nigerian parents, Saka is Arsenal’s main source of goals and assists from the right. ChampBet had him at 21.00 in the Champions League Most Assists market.
  • Declan Rice: if fit, his set-piece delivery matters against a Lille side that let in two headers against Betis.

Lille

  • Olivier Giroud: a return to the Emirates for the former Arsenal striker, who scored on the opening day of the Ligue 1 season at Angers. Expect him to start or come off the bench for a late aerial threat.
  • Ayase Ueda: the Japan striker joined from Feyenoord in the summer, scored on his debut at Toulouse and headed in against Betis.
  • Alexsandro: the centre-back scored from a corner against Betis and is Lille’s main threat at set pieces.

Arsenal vs Lille head-to-head

Arsenal and Lille have not met in European competition in recent seasons, so there is no useful head-to-head record to lean on. Current form and team news matter far more here.

Arsenal vs Lille odds explained

Divide 1 by the decimal price to get the implied probability. If that is new to you, start with how betting odds work.

Arsenal vs Lille odds on ChampBet: Arsenal 1.25, draw 6.2, Lille 11.0, with implied chances and our pick: Arsenal to win at 1.25

Market ChampBet odds (7 Oct 2026) Implied probability
Arsenal win 1.25 80.0%
Draw 6.20 16.1%
Lille win 11.00 9.1%
Lille or draw (X2) 3.75 26.7%
Over 2.5 goals 1.58 63.3%
Under 2.5 goals 2.27 44.1%
Both teams to score: Yes 2.10 47.6%
Both teams to score: No 1.67 59.9%

The three results add up to 105.2%, so the margin is about 5%. The market sees an Arsenal win four times out of five and expects goals, with over 2.5 at 63%. It leans slightly towards Lille not scoring, which is where we disagree most, as explained below.

Our Arsenal vs Lille prediction

We lean Arsenal to win at 1.25. Arsenal are at home, they dominate the ball and outrun their opponents, and Lille arrive after a home defeat to Betis and a loss at Nice, without the suspended Mbappe. Lille’s trouble defending crosses against Betis also suits Arsenal. Our scoreline guess is 3-1.

The risk is that 1.25 leaves little room for error. Arsenal are without Havertz and Tzolis, Konsa is a doubt, and the 3-0 defeat at Brighton showed they can have a flat day. A short price like this works best as part of a bigger slip, not as a big single stake. If you want a Lille vs Arsenal prediction with an upset in mind, X2 at 3.75 pays on a draw or a Lille win, but we do not see the value there.

Other markets worth a look

  • Over 2.5 goals at 1.58: our second angle. Arsenal create plenty at home, and Lille have scored in every game this season. Our over 2.5 goals tips explain how to judge this market.
  • Both teams to score: Yes at 2.10: the value angle. The market gives Lille less than a 48% chance of scoring, yet they have scored in six games out of six, and Giroud and Ueda both threaten in the air.
  • Over 3.5 goals at 2.40: a bigger price if you expect our 3-1 or something more open.
  • Bet Builder idea: Arsenal to win plus over 2.5 goals. Tap the BB icon on the match and the slip works out the combined price. Our Bet Builder guide shows you how.
