LASK vs Liverpool prediction for Wednesday 14 October, 17:45 WAT in Linz: our pick at 1.22, ChampBet odds, team news and the Moses Usor angle for Nigeria.
In this guide
Our LASK vs Liverpool prediction is a Liverpool win at 1.22, with both teams to score at 1.80 as our value angle. The sides meet at the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz on Wednesday 14 October 2026, kick-off 17:45 WAT, in Champions League Matchday 2. Every price below is ChampBet odds on 7 October 2026, and they will move once the line-ups are known.
Liverpool are one of the most followed clubs in Nigeria, and this time there is a Nigerian on the other side too: LASK forward Moses Usor, who scored a debut winner for the Super Eagles last month. Predictions are our opinion and football is unpredictable, so treat this as a view, not a promise.
LASK vs Liverpool team news
Andoni Iraola and LASK coach Dietmar Kuhbauer speak to the media on Tuesday 13 October. Both teams play on Sunday first: Liverpool host Manchester City at 16:30 WAT, and LASK host Rapid Vienna. Expect changes from both.
Liverpool
Iraola had 18 senior players away on international duty, and three came back with problems. According to the Liverpool Echo’s injury round-up on 6 October:
- Alexander Isak left the Sweden camp with a thigh problem. Sweden boss Graham Potter called it small, and the club’s description of it as minor suggests he will be in contention soon.
- Cody Gakpo hurt his ankle playing for the Netherlands. One Dutch journalist reported he could miss several weeks, so treat him as a doubt.
- Jeremy Jacquet missed France’s win over Belgium with a left hamstring strain, though Zinedine Zidane said he was only slightly injured. Ronald Araujo can move into the middle if needed.
- Federico Chiesa is close to a return after missing the start of the season.
- Out: Hugo Ekitike (Achilles), Conor Bradley (knee) and Giovanni Leoni, who is still working back from a knee injury.
The City game matters here. If Isak or Gakpo are only fit for one match, Iraola may save them for Sunday and rotate in Linz.
LASK
We could not find confirmed injury news for LASK on Wednesday, so check Kuhbauer’s press conference on Tuesday. Usor and American striker Samuel Adeniran, who scored twice from long range in the play-off against Celtic, are the attackers to look for in the line-up.
Form and context
Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 at Anfield on Matchday 1, coming from behind through Dominik Szoboszlai and a long-range strike from Alexis Mac Allister. They went into the international break unbeaten in seven games in all competitions. The league has been patchier: two wins and three draws from five games in Iraola’s first season after joining from Bournemouth. Isak’s goal won it 1-0 at Bournemouth just before the break, his fourth of the league season.
LASK are the story of the summer. Kuhbauer returned as coach in October 2025 and led them to the 2025/26 Austrian title and cup, the club’s first double since 1965. Their route into the league phase was wild: beaten 3-0 by Celtic in Glasgow, they won the return 5-1 after extra time in Linz to go through 5-4 on aggregate. Their first league-phase game ended in a 1-0 defeat at AEK Athens. Domestically they went into the break third in the Austrian Bundesliga after seven games, with one defeat, 2-1 at Sturm Graz.
Players to watch
LASK
- Moses Usor, the Nigerian angle: a graduate of the 36 Lion academy, Usor came on for his Super Eagles debut against Madagascar on 25 September and scored the winner four minutes later, running from his own half before finishing. Punch reports three goals and five assists in 12 games for LASK this season, after 15 goals and 10 assists last term. Against Liverpool’s full-backs, his running will be LASK’s main outlet.
- Samuel Adeniran: the striker who hit two long-range goals in the Celtic comeback. He gives LASK a direct target when they go long.
Liverpool
- Rio Ngumoha, the Nigerian angle for Liverpool: the 18-year-old winger is of Nigerian and Guadeloupean descent and now plays for England, where Thomas Tuchel used him twice during the break. If Gakpo is out, or Iraola rotates after City, he could start on the left. ChampBet had him at 151.00 for Champions League top scorer.
- Alexis Mac Allister: scored the winner against Atletico and controls the tempo. A start in Linz would show how seriously Iraola takes the game.
- Bradley Barcola: the £123m signing from Paris Saint-Germain made his first Liverpool start on Matchday 1 and offers pace in behind. ChampBet had him at 51.00 for top scorer.
- Alexander Isak: if fit, Liverpool’s most reliable finisher. ChampBet had him at 26.00 for Champions League top scorer.
LASK vs Liverpool head-to-head
Liverpool have played in Linz before. In the 2023/24 Europa League group stage they fell behind at LASK and came back to win 3-1, with goals from Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.
LASK vs Liverpool odds explained
Divide 1 by the decimal price to get the implied probability. If that is new to you, start with how betting odds work.

| Market | ChampBet odds (7 Oct 2026) | Implied probability |
|---|---|---|
| LASK win | 11.00 | 9.1% |
| Draw | 7.30 | 13.7% |
| Liverpool win | 1.22 | 82.0% |
| LASK or draw (1X) | 4.25 | 23.5% |
| Both teams to score: Yes | 1.80 | 55.6% |
| Both teams to score: No | 1.94 | 51.5% |
| Over 2.5 goals | 1.35 | 74.1% |
| Over 3.5 goals | 1.90 | 52.6% |
The three results add up to 104.8%, so the margin is about 5%. The market makes Liverpool overwhelming favourites and expects goals, with over 2.5 at 74%. It is split almost evenly on whether LASK score, which is where we see the value.
Our LASK vs Liverpool prediction
We lean Liverpool to win at 1.22. Liverpool have more quality in every area, they are unbeaten this season and they beat a strong Atletico side on Matchday 1. LASK are a good story, but they lost in Athens and are new to this level. Our scoreline guess is 1-3.
The risk is the calendar. Liverpool play Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, then travel to Austria for a Wednesday kick-off, with Isak, Gakpo and Jacquet all carrying knocks. A heavily rotated side on a small, loud ground is exactly how favourites drop points. The draw at 7.30 is the upset result we would worry about most. If you prefer a Liverpool vs LASK prediction with cover, X2 at 1.05 barely pays, so it is not worth it on its own.
Other markets worth a look
- Both teams to score: Yes at 1.80: our value angle. LASK scored five against Celtic in Linz, Usor and Adeniran both carry a threat, and Liverpool conceded to Atletico at Anfield. A rotated defence makes a LASK goal more likely. Our GG tips guide explains the market.
- Over 3.5 goals at 1.90: our 1-3 scoreline lands here. It needs four goals, so it is a bigger risk.
- Over 2.5 goals at 1.35: the market’s favourite, but the price is short.
- Bet Builder idea: Liverpool to win plus both teams to score: Yes. Tap the BB icon on the match and the slip works out the combined price. Our Bet Builder guide shows you how.
