What time do Champions League matches start in Nigeria?
UEFA sets kick-offs in Central European Time: 18:45 and 21:00. Nigeria stays on WAT (UTC+1) all year and never changes its clocks. When Europe is on summer time, its clocks run one hour ahead of Lagos, so games start at 17:45 and 20:00 WAT. In European winter time, the clocks match and games start at 18:45 and 21:00 WAT.

The simple rule: in October, take one hour off the European time. From November to late March, the European time and the Nigerian time are the same.
The 25 October 2026 clock change
Europe’s clocks go back one hour in the early hours of Sunday 25 October 2026 and forward again on Sunday 28 March 2027. Nigeria does not change. So Matchday 3 on 20 and 21 October still starts at 17:45 and 20:00 WAT, but Matchday 4 on 3 and 4 November starts at 18:45 and 21:00 WAT.

Why do Champions League kick-off times change in Nigeria?
Nigeria stays on West Africa Time (UTC+1) all year, but Europe moves its clocks. In European summer time, Lagos is one hour behind, so a 21:00 kick-off in Paris is 20:00 WAT. In European winter time, from 25 October 2026 to 28 March 2027, the times are the same.
When is the 2027 Champions League final?
The final is on Saturday 5 June 2027 at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid, the home of Atlético Madrid. Before it come the knockout play-offs in February, the round of 16 in March, the quarter-finals in April and the semi-finals from late April to early May.
How many games are on each Champions League matchday?
Eighteen. All 36 clubs play once per matchday, usually split over a Tuesday and a Wednesday with two early games each night. Matchday 1 was spread over three days, and on Matchday 8, on 27 January 2027, all 18 games kick off together at 21:00 WAT.
